DENVER (AP) — The Colorado Rockies have promoted left-hander Drew Pomeranz from the minors.
Pomeranz was recalled from Triple-A Colorado Springs before Sunday’s game against San Francisco. Right-hander Rob Scahill was optioned to Triple-A.
The 24-year-old Pomeranz was 8-1 with a 4.20 ERA in 15 starts with Colorado Springs. He struck out 96 and walked 33 in 85 2-3 innings.
Pomeranz was 2-9 with a 4.93 ERA in 22 starts with the Rockies in 2012.
Scahill was 0-0 with a 4.26 ERA in 13 relief appearances with the Rockies.
