Letter: Madore’s plan would hurt parks

I think Clark County Commissioner David Madore’s proposal to cut some fees at our parks is a bit out of line. Is he even seeing the bigger picture?

Without the revenue of these fees, parks will have to cut elsewhere in the budget. It might be maintenance; it might be something else.

The cuts could include shutting down the bathrooms in the parks or garbage service or grounds care. Can you see our beautiful parks without this care and concern that these services supply?

If Madore’s proposal goes through, I give the parks only six months and they won’t be fit to walk a dog through (sorry puppies). If he really wants this, why not cut back to the 2010 fee collection process of just collecting during the busy summer season?
