PARK CITY, Utah (AP) — John Teller and Tyler Wallasch, both from Mammoth Lakes, Calif., gave the United States a 1-2 finish Friday in the skicross Grand Prix.

Canada’s Stanley Hayer was third in the competition at Canyons Resort.

The women’s winner was Ophelie David of France. She made a fast start and avoided the wreckage behind her in crash-filled afternoon. Madeline Riffel, also from Mammoth Lakes, nearly went off the course in the finals but recovered to finish second and claim the U.S. title as the top American finisher.

American Langely McNeal fell after another skier slid across the tails of her skis but scrambled to get up in time to take third.
