NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Revolutionary has been made the 3-1 favorite in a full field of 14 for Saturday’s $1 million Louisiana Derby at the Fair Grounds.

The 3-year-old colt trained by Todd Pletcher drew the No. 3 post position Wednesday. Winner of the Withers Stakes, Revolutionary will be ridden by Javier Castellano.

Code West is the second choice at 9-2, with Palace Malice third at 5-1. The horses finished second and third, respectively, in the Risen Star.

The 1 1/8-mile race is a prep for the May 4 Kentucky Derby and is worth 100 qualifying points to the winner, with 40 points for second, 20 for third and 10 for fourth. Total points will determine the 20 starters for the Kentucky Derby.

Also entered are Departing, Titletown Five, Proud Strike, Mylute, Sunbean, Golden Soul, Ground Transport, Hip Four Sixtynine, Brazilian Court and Whiskey Bravo.
