PITTSBURGH (AP) — Jarvis Jones doesn’t expect to replace James Harrison. Landry Jones doesn’t even want to talk about taking over for Ben Roethlisberger.
At the moment, the Pittsburgh Steelers rookies are just trying to adjust to life in the NFL.
Both players joined 39 other rookies or first-year players during an introductory minicamp on Friday, capping a whirlwind week that transformed them from NFL prospects to NFL players.
The Steelers chose Jarvis Jones with the 17th overall pick and hope the speedy outside linebacker can add some teeth to a pass rush in need of a boost after the team cut Harrison in March.
Pittsburgh took Landry Jones in the fourth round. The former Oklahoma quarterback says he doesn’t see himself as the eventual successor to Roethlisberger.
