SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — Cory Schneider is set to return from an injury to start Game 3 of the Vancouver Canucks’ first-round playoff series against the San Jose Sharks.

Schneider had been sidelined by an undisclosed injury for Vancouver’s two home losses to open the series. Coach Alain Vigneault said before Game 3 on Sunday that Schneider will replace Roberto Luongo as the Canucks try to get back into this series.

Schneider started 30 games in the regular season, allowing just 2.11 goals per game. Schneider will make his fifth career postseason start.

Luongo allowed six goals on 61 shots the first two games. Vancouver lost 3-1 in the opener and 3-2 in overtime in Game 2.
