INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Indiana Fever forward Shyra Ely-Gash will miss the entire 2013 WNBA season after rupturing her right Achilles tendon.

The team says she injured the foot at practice last week. It’s the third time in four years that she has sustained a season-ending injury. She missed last season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament.

Ely-Gash is an Indianapolis native. She was Indiana’s Miss Basketball in 2001 while playing for Ben Davis High School. Indiana signed her to a training camp contract in February.

In her last healthy season, Ely-Gash averaged 3.1 points and 2.2 rebounds in 33 games for the Fever in 2011.
