MOBILE, Ala. (AP) — Stacy Lewis returns to the Mobile Bay LPGA Classic under very different circumstances.

The No. 2-ranked Lewis begins defense of her title Thursday at The Crossings Course at Magnolia Grove, seeking a third straight win on Alabama’s Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail courses. She also won in Prattville last fall.

Lewis says this is the tournament last year “when things really kind of started going right for me.”

She also says her situation is dramatically different these days. Then she was seeking her second LPGA win, and now she’s going for No. 8.

Lewis wound up winning three tournaments and player of the year honors last year.

Lewis has claimed two more this year with consecutive victories in Singapore and Phoenix. Top-ranked Inbee Park is skipping the tournament.
