Woodland — The Woodland Historical Museum held an open house April 20 that brought together local dairy families from past and present to meet and talk about their experiences.
About 100 dairy farmers, their family members and some former Cowlitz County Dairy Princesses, from as far back as 1961, participated in the event. They helped churn butter for guests. Some families brought up to four generations to the open house.
The Woodland Historical Museum is working on a book about the dairy industry in the Woodland area and is looking for information about dairy families. Contact Rosaly Bauer Divens for details at 360-607-7200 or wsurose@gmail.com.
