OCEANPORT, N.J. (AP) — Smoldering Beauty took the early lead and ran off to an easy win in the $44,000 allowance feature at Monmouth Park on Sunday, beating Heir Storm by 534 lengths.
Trained by Kelly John Breen and ridden by Elvis Trujillo, the 4-year-old filly ran six furlongs over a sloppy track in 1:09 4-5 and paid $4.20, $2.60 and $2.10. It was Smoldering Beauty’s third win in seven career starts.
Heir Storm returned $2.80 and $2.40, and More Than Love was 114 lengths back in third and paid $2.80.
