SEATTLE (AP) — The Seattle Mariners have designated infielder Robert Andino for assignment, recalled infielder Carlos Triunfel from Triple-A Tacoma and selected catcher Jesus Sucre.

Seattle made the flurry of roster moves on Friday, a day after they sent slumping catcher Jesus Montero down to Tacoma in the hopes of igniting his season.

Triunfel will be making his second appearance with the big league club after playing in 10 games last season for the Mariners. He was hitting .300 with 14 doubles and 19 RBIs in 44 games with Tacoma this season.

Sucre had played in only 14 games with Tacoma, but was hitting .302 and had thrown out seven of 18 base runners this season. Sucre was in the starting lineup on Friday.

Andino was made 22 starts for the Mariners at three different positions, but struggled at the plate no matter his spot. Andino hit just .184.
