CLEVELAND (AP) — Hall of Fame running back Jim Brown has reunited with the Cleveland Browns after a messy breakup.

Brown was estranged from the only team he played with for several years after his previous role was eliminated by former president Mike Holmgren. He was welcomed back to the Browns on Wednesday by owner Jimmy Haslam, who said Brown will serve as a “special adviser” and be active in community work.

Brown said he is most looking forward to working with Cleveland’s current players and vowed to “help anyway I can in the quest to win a Super Bowl.”

Haslam helped heal Brown’s rift with the team and said the 77-year-old “is still the man.”

Wearing the famed No. 32, Brown set the franchise record for rushing yards before retiring in 1965 at the peak of his career.
