SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis and rookie safety Eric Reid both expressed optimism on being able to pass a series of tests this week after suffering concussions in Sunday’s 10-9 loss to the Carolina Panthers.

Davis, who also landed on his shoulder as well as the side of his head, said he did not suffer any postgame symptoms. Reid said he felt better and knows the routine.

Second-year tight end Garrett Celek said he’s taking things day by day after sustaining a hamstring injury less than six minutes into the loss. He missed the remainder of the game.
