Letter: Enforce gun-free zones at schools

The Columbian
Published: November 17, 2013, 4:00pm

Children are supposed to be in safe and stress-free environment at school. Guns are everywhere and easily accessible. With guns being loose in the United States, our government needs to stop putting the Band-Aids on the situation and find a solution to prevent the violence.

My heart is broken when children are getting killed at school or a child has brought a gun(s) to school. Children will model the behaviors from adults who act brashly and the children will misinterpret it as it is OK to behave. Governments need to step up and we, the communities, have the responsibilities to model for the children the best citizenship we can. Time to step up and find the best solution on the gun issue.
