Letter: Boeing always had the upper hand

The Columbian
Published: November 20, 2013, 4:00pm

The Columbian’s Nov. 15 headline reads “Boeing may move 777X production out of state.” The article says that Boeing is looking at all of its options. The question is does anybody really believe that Boeing wasn’t looking at all of their options when they sat silently through the recent emergency legislative session, and didn’t even bother to say “thank you” when Gov. Jay Inslee offered them $9 billion in tax breaks?

This is just another example of the decaying loyalty of businesses to the communities in which they live, and our politicians’ eagerness to contribute local dollars to their corporate well-being.

Yes, we all need jobs, but at what cost?
