Letter: Image embraces stereotyping

Joe Kooijman’s Nov. 16 letter, “Stigma not attached to tradition,” justifying blackface as an historical, innocent cultural tradition is like putting slavery in a historical way for justification purposes. Justifying blackface is an generational excuse for passing down racism. There can never be any excuse for racism, whatever the route it may take.
