PUERTO VALLARTA, Mexico (AP) — Courtney Moses scored four second-half 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 22 points to lead No. 16 Purdue over TCU 75-68 at the Hardwood Tournament of Hope Thursday night.
Purdue (5-1) bounced back from its first loss off the season, an 86-69 loss to Stanford Tuesday in the opener of the tourney. Natalie Ventress led TCU (4-3) with 14 points.
A close game throughout, the Horned Frogs led for much of the first half and held a 1-point lead at the half. But Purdue took the lead at 16:38 in the second half behind a 3-pointer by Moses. The Boilermakers stretched the lead to eight with 2:18 to play on another trey by Moses as the shot clock expired.
Purdue pulled away at the end by remaining steady on the free-throw line. Moses hit all eight of her attempts in the game, including four inside 28 seconds.
