Foiled Again, Market Share earn wins

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — Foiled Again and Market Share won the inaugural $500,000 TVG Stakes for older horses on Saturday night at the Meadowlands.

Foiled Again dug in to hold off Golden Receiver by a neck in the TVG Pace, pushing his career earnings to a harness-racing record $6,024,968.

The 9-year-old gelding, the oldest horse in the 10-horse field, earned his 76th win in 198 starts. Yannick Gingras was at the lines for trainer Ron Burke in the 1:49 2/5 mile. He paid $7.80 to win.

Market Share returned to the scene of his greatest triumph, the 2012 Hambletonian, with a three-length win over Guccio in the TVG Trot. The 4-year-old trained by Linda Toscano and driven by Tim Tetrick got his sixth win in 14 starts this season, improving his career earnings to $3,115,011. He paid $4.60 to win. The time was 1:51 for the mile.
