FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — The New York Jets have released wide receiver Ben Obomanu, and are considering other options to help offset injuries to Santonio Holmes and Stephen Hill.

Obomanu had one catch for 8 yards in the team’s 38-13 loss to Tennessee on Sunday, and was called for three penalties.

Holmes, sidelined most of last season with a foot injury, tweaked a hamstring at Tennessee and is expected to miss a few games. Hill suffered a concussion in the same game, and his availability for the Jets’ game Monday night at Atlanta is uncertain.

New York is expected to sign former Bills wide receiver David Nelson, but the team had no official announcement early Tuesday night. The Jets also worked out some other wide receivers, including Josh Cribbs, according to published reports.
