Brandon Van Pelt threw his second touchdown pass to Josh Miller and ran in the conversion to bring the Bulldogs within a point with 32 seconds left, but the Chinooks covered the onside kick and prevailed.

Van Pelt was 16 of 37 for 226 yards and scoring strikes of 24 and 29 yards to Miller, who had seven catches for 121 yards.

Miller also had a fumble recovery and forced a fumble.

Jared Shagool scored touchdowns rushing and receiving for Kalama, which led 13-0 in the second quarter. Chinooks quarterback Elijah Bannister rushed for the game’s opening touchdown.
