ITHACA, N.Y. (AP) — Jimmy DeCicco rushed for 146 yards and two touchdowns to lead Colgate to a 41-20 victory over Cornell Saturday.

The Raiders (1-4) dominated the Big Red (1-2) in the second half, outscoring Cornell 24-0. Quarterback Jake Melville filled in admirably after Gavin McCarney was injured early in the third quarter, finishing with one rushing touchdown and one passing. Melville’s 6-yard scoring run capped a 15-play, 75-yard drive and gave Colgate a 23-20 lead.

DeCicco added both of his scores in the fourth quarter, including a 77-yard scamper to push the lead to 35-20. Dan Cason finished with 8 catches for 120 yards for the Raiders.

Cornell’s Jeff Mathews threw for 351 yards and two scores, but both of his interceptions were returned for touchdowns. Mathews also became the Ivy League’s all-time leader with 9,303 passing yards, eclipsing the previous record of 9,294, held by Brown’s James Perry.
