HILLSBORO, Ore. — Authorities say a great-grandson of the victim was one of two teens arrested in the death of a 71-year-old suburban Portland woman. Police arrested the two in the dead woman’s Lexus after a high-speed chase in northeast Oregon.

Washington County sheriff’s Sgt. Bob Ray says Jacqueline Bell was found dead in her Cedar Mill home on Saturday. An autopsy determined that she died of blunt-force trauma.

Ray says one of those arrested was a 17-year-old relative who had been living with Bell. Also arrested Saturday was 19-year-old Micus Ward of Kansas City.

While a motive is unknown, the spokesman says investigators believe the two teens killed the woman and took her car, planning to flee to Kansas City, where both recently lived. They were arrested on Interstate 84 near La Grande.
