BLACKSBURG, Va. (AP) — Another week, another score to settle for Virginia Tech.

The No. 24 Hokies (5-1, 2-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) host ACC newcomer Pittsburgh on Saturday in Blacksburg, Va. Memories of a 35-17 loss last season at Heinz Field are vivid for the hosts.

Only Florida State (seven) and Miami (four) have managed to win as many games in a row against Virginia Tech in Frank Beamer’s 27 seasons. Wide receiver Willie Byrn says the streak must end.

Pittsburgh (3-1, 2-1) has been something of a surprise so far in league play, as well as hard to figure out. The Panthers won a shootout, 58-55 against Duke, then beat Virginia 14-3 a week later.

The game also comes after a bye week for the Panthers.
