Teen shot at Portland transit station dies

Portland — One of two people who were shot in a Portland transit station has died.

Portland police say 15-year-old Abukar Madey died early Sunday at a Portland hospital. They’re investigating his death as a homicide.

An autopsy Sunday by the Oregon State Medical Examiner found the teen died from a gunshot wound to the head.

The other victim, Lucio Alejandro Ramirez-Navarro, 22, remains in a Portland hospital recovering from his injuries.

The Friday shooting at the Holgate Transit Station in east Portland was reported just before midnight, when police found one man suffering from several gunshot wounds.

While checking the area, a second man was found with a gunshot wound to the head on stairs leading to a light-rail platform.
