Kaden Harbertson of Skyview cross country was voted The Columbian’s high school fall sports athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Oct. 12.
Harbertson collected 39 percent of the 2,574 votes cast by fans to beat out Sam Rice of Ridgefield volleyball, who had 36 percent.
Harbertson placed second at the Sandelie XC Classic in Wilsonville, Ore., in 15 minutes, 47 seconds, helping the Storm place second in the team standings.
The other nominees were Nicole Goecke of Prairie cross country, Darya Samiee of Mountain View swimming and Spencer Tibbits of Fort Vancouver golf.
