Momentum building as Steelers head west

PITTSBURGH (AP) — The Pittsburgh Steelers’ slow climb out of an 0-4 hole is proving costly.

Coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday that linebacker Lawrence Timmons broke a bone in his hand in the third quarter of a 19-16 win over Baltimore last weekend. Timmons stayed in the game and tied a career-high with 17 tackles as the Steelers posted their second straight victory. The injured hand is now in a cast and Tomlin said he doesn’t anticipate Timmons missing Sunday’s game at Oakland.

Several other players will be limited in practice this week, including left tackle Kelvin Beachum (ribs), linebacker LaMarr Woodley (right knee) and defensive end Brett Keisel (ribs).

Tomlin said all three starters will have a chance to play against the Raiders (2-4).
