ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — Michigan running back Drake Johnson will miss the remainder of the season with a torn ACL sustained in Saturday’s 59-9 win over Central Michigan.

The redshirt freshman was listed as the No. 2 tailback on the Michigan depth chart, but was injured on his second carry against the Chippewas, and the team announced Monday that he will not return this year.

Highly touted freshman Derrick Green, who rushed for 58 yards and a touchdown in his first game, will now move up to the No. 2 spot behind starter Fitzgerald Toussaint. The 17th-ranked Wolverines face No. 14 Notre Dame on Saturday in the second night game at Michigan Stadium.
