Tigers recall Bonderman, Alvarez, C Holaday

BOSTON (AP) — The Detroit Tigers have recalled pitchers Jeremy Bonderman and Jose Alvarez and catcher Bryan Holaday from Triple-A Toledo.

Bonderman, who sat out the past two seasons after eight years with Detroit, began this season with Seattle then was signed by the Tigers on July 14 after the Mariners designated him for assignment. The right-hander was 1-1 with a 4.93 ERA for Seattle in seven games, all starts. With Detroit he was 1-1 with a 2.51 ERA in nine outings, all in relief, before being sent to Toledo last Saturday.

The left-handed Alvarez is 1-4 with a 6.14 ERA in eight games for the Tigers this season.

Holaday is batting .280 in 12 games for Detroit.
