TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — Arizona State reportedly has placed an assistant athletic director for recruiting on administrative leave after his arrest in a domestic-violence incident last month.

The Arizona Republic reported Thursday that Sherman Morris was charged by police in suburban Chandler with one count of aggravated assault-serious physical injury and one count of aggravated assault-strangulation on Aug. 29.

Details of the case aren’t immediately available.

ASU officials issued a release saying a “football-staff employee” was placed on administrative leave “pending the outcome of a review of the facts in the case.”

However, the employee wasn’t identified.

Morris was hired by ASU in March after six seasons at Louisiana State, where he was director of player personnel.
