A Battle Ground man was injured when he crashed his motorcycle on Interstate 205 Saturday afternoon.

The crash occurred at about 3:30 p.m. on I-205 north at Milepost 30, which is near the exit for state Highway 500 in Vancouver.

Michael Cherney, 52, was riding a black 2006 Harley-Davidson on I-205 at a speed too fast for congested traffic, according to the Washington State Patrol. Cherney lost control of the motorcycle when he tried to brake for traffic, according to police.

The motorcycle came to rest in the roadway.

Cherney was injured in the crash and transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center.

Police cited Cherney for driving too fast for the conditions.
