SEATTLE (AP) — Seattle Mariners ace Felix Hernandez will not make his scheduled start on Wednesday, the second time his turn in the rotation has been pushed back.

The team confirmed Monday that Hernandez will not start against Houston. He was originally scheduled to start last Sunday against Tampa Bay, but had that start pushed back due to stiffness in his back. Hernandez left his start on Sept. 2 against Kansas City due to cramps in his lower back.

Seattle manager Eric Wedge was expected to give an update later Monday before the Mariners open their series against Houston.

Hernandez is 12-9 with a 3.01 ERA this season. He’s lost five of his last six decisions and given up 38 hits and 24 earned runs during that stretch.
