Jets LB Coples probable, will play vs. Bills

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — Linebacker Quinton Coples will make his regular-season debut for the New York Jets on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills, a month after having surgery on a fractured ankle.

Coples, listed as probable on the team’s injury report Friday, hurt his right ankle against Jacksonville on Aug. 17 and had surgery to repair a hairline fracture three days later.

He was originally listed as being out indefinitely, but Coples practiced for the first time Wednesday, and the ankle responded well this week. Coach Rex Ryan says the fact Coples is already ready to play — even in a limited role — is “probably a story in itself.”

The only player listed as out for the Jets is rookie offensive tackle Oday Aboushi, who Ryan said dislocated a knee in practice Thursday.
