The American Farm Bureau Federation has joined with the Alliance for Northwest Jobs & Exports in supporting three proposed commodity export terminal projects in Washington and Oregon. The proposed terminals in Washington are in Cherry Point and Longview, and the proposed Oregon terminal is in Boardman. The Farm Bureau Federation said those terminals would benefit not only the coal industry but also agriculture and other exporters.

“Coal shipments through these new facilities will lower costs to other shippers, like agriculture, by improving the economics of infrastructure investment and operation,” said Steve Baccus, president of the Kansas Farm Bureau and chair of the American Farm Bureau Federation Trade Advisory Committee.
