Kiggins Theatre has canceled its free showing of the “Breaking Bad” finale Sunday night because of a cease-and-desist order from AMC, according to the theater’s Facebook page.
The post says the theater had been in touch with Comcast and believed it was within its rights to allow the public to watch the show on its screen, but was cancelling because of lack resources to fight the issue on short notice.
It reads: “We are truly sorry for the late notice regarding this and hope you will be able to find an alternative way of watching the end of this groundbreaking show. We are not sure yet how this decision will affect our showing of other live televised entertainment. Stay tuned.”
The theater suggested that disappointed fans contact AMC about the decision.
