The Columbia River Crossing expenditure article, “CRC audit questions $17M in costs,” front page above the fold on April 17, revealed a tally of what the top 10 planning contractors were paid relative to some $150 million taxpayer dollars. No indication as to the remaining $50 million spent.
The article revealed what was spent, but said nothing about what we got for those monies. I believe that I may be like many other taxpayers in wanting to be sure that whatever products (study results, environmental investigations, permits) were made, will be held intact for future use just in case the project surfaces again.
Paying dearly for something once is difficult … paying for the same thing over and over is a fool’s game.
