EUGENE, Ore. — A young man who was a senior at Sheldon High School in Eugene when police arrested him on child pornography charges has accepted a plea agreement in which he is expected to be sentenced to 25 years in prison.
The Register-Guard newspaper reports that Elliot Cumer pleaded guilty Tuesday to making pornography depicting 10 children, one of whom he sodomized.
If convicted by a jury, the 19-year-old could have been sentenced to life in prison. His agreement with prosecutors allows him to be released from custody in 2039, when he will be 44 years old.
A sentencing hearing has been scheduled for Sept. 24.
