PULLMAN (AP) — Washington State University is naming its broadcast building Keith Jackson Hall in honor of the sports broadcaster who had a 40-year career with ABC.

Jackson was the first play-by-play announcer on Monday Night Football and fixture on ABC’s Wide World of Sports.

The university in Pullman says the 1954 graduate is a strong supporter who has given more than $1 million to the Edward R. Murrow College of Communication and WSU Athletics.

The dedication ceremony for Keith Jackson Hall is set for Sept. 12 to coincide with Jackson’s visit for his 60th alumni class reunion.
