Letter: Many existing issues to resolve

Wayne Mayo’s Dec. 7 letter, “Issues put aside, Obama moves on,” sounds more like something Fox News would say, indicating to me these positions are being repeated rather than looking at the situations that have led to the administration actions. Granted, President Obama and his administration have made errors, however, we need to look at the American situations that existed at its outset.

No matter what is being said, the following existed when President Obama entered office:

  1. Two wars with no end game.
  2. Economy in a mess.
  3. Jobs being exported overseas.
  4. Escalating health care costs.
  5. An increasing deficit partially created by spending on wars that even today do not make sense as to why America’s leaders at the time felt nation building could be achieved.

These are just a few of the issues that existed and even today we as Americans are attempting to resolve.
