Evan Garrison scored 35 points, but the Clark College men’s basketball team couldn’t overcome foul trouble in a 89-76 loss at Mt. Hood on Saturday.
Mt. Hood shot 49 free throws to Clark’s 20. Three Clark players fouled out.
“We never really could get in a rhythm,” Clark coach Alex Kirk said. “We were slow to adjust to how the game was being officiated. But give Mt. Hood credit. They’re a good team.”
Garrison, a sophomore point guard, shot 14-for-17 from the field, including three 3-pointers. He also had six rebounds and three steals.
The Penguins fell to 3-2 on the season.
Oleg Marandyuk scored 27 points to lead Mt. Hood (2-5)
Up next is a home game at 3 p.m. Sunday against Concordia’s JV team. That game was originally scheduled for Thursday, but was postponed due to a power outage.
