The Portland Winterhawks won their 13th straight, beating Prince George on the road 8-4.

The win streak is two shy of the franchise record set in both the 1979-80 and 1997-98 seasons. The Hawks also had a 14-game streak last season.

Chase De Leo tied a career-high with five points (two goals, three assists), while Taylor Leier had four points (one goal, three assists).

De Leo scored his second power play goal of the game to push the lead to 4-1 midway through the second period. The Hawks added to the lead when Paul Bittner banged in a rebound on a power play at the 15:31 mark for a 5-1 advantage.

The Hawks and Cougars meet again Wednesday in Prince George at 7 p.m.
