The FBI in Salt Lake City is looking for a wanted man they believe may be traveling through Washington.

Kevin Anthony Briggs reportedly purchased a one-way ticket to Spokane after fleeing police custody in Montana. He’s wanted on suspicion of aggravated assault, attempted sexual intercourse without consent, assault on a peace officer and escape.

On the morning of February 1, a woman in Bozeman, Mont. called police to report that a Briggs had attacked her and tried to strangle her before he fled. When police found Briggs, he allegedly resisted arrest and hit an officer in the face. In transport to jail, he escaped custody.

Later that evening, Briggs bought a one-way ticket to Spokane, investigators say. They believe he may travel through the state to Oregon, California or Mexico.

Briggs is described as 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall with brown hair and hazel eyes. He has several tattoos and piercings: a sunburst tattoo on his chest, a tattoo on his armpit and a tattoo on his lower lips, as well as piercings on his belly button, ears and bottom lip. Investigators say he may try to alter his appearance.

He’s considered armed and dangerous, with prior convictions of aggravated kidnap, escape, burglary and sexual intercourse without consent. Anyone who knows his whereabouts should call 911 or their local law enforcement agency.
