Nearly every word in Don and Judy Ebel’s Feb. 12 letter, “It’s evident He does exist,” references a biblical passage. Then they say that “Born-again Christians are not here to prove anything” but argue that the Bible does offer such proof with reference to the “death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.” Please. Using only biblical Scripture as “proof” of anything the Bible itself says, including the existence of God, is a worthless exercise with no measurable value. “Because I said so” does not mean anything. Believe whatever you want, but actual facts are based on real evidence, not hopeful desire, written or otherwise, however heartfelt or comforting such feelings may be.
