A suspect in a Portland stabbing was arrested in Vancouver Tuesday, according to the Portland Police Bureau.

Vancouver police officers and Clark County sheriff’s deputies arrested Louis Williams, 19, late Tuesday evening in the area of Northeast 59th Street and 106th Avenue.

Williams was arrested in connection to a Feb. 12 stabbing of a 16-year-old male inside the Lloyd Center Mall, according to police. Portland gang enforcement detectives identified Williams as the suspect of the stabbing using mall surveillance and witness information, according to the agency. The victim was treated for injuries that ultimately were not life-threatening.

Williams was booked in the Clark County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon.

Portland police said that Williams will be extradited to the Multnomah County Jail at a future date.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact Detective Meghan Burkeen at 503-823-2092, meghan.burkeen@portlandoregon.gov.
