Letter: Success due to learning community

In 2012 I obtained my GED. I then enrolled in the Academic IBEST Program at Clark College, not having any confidence, full of fear, but wanting to believe. I began a journey, full of growth.

I remember coming to class out of breath. I thought it was COPD, but, no, they were panic attacks. I would also cry at the drop of a dime. I always received encouragement from my instructors. Clark College offers everything so a student can be successful, from advising to counseling, tutoring centers that help with all subjects, and if you need more help, the instructor will help you. Clark College has everything to make sure that every student will be successful in their educational journey.

Today I serve as the Associated Students of Clark College president. I will be graduating at the end of our spring term, in June, with degrees in associate of arts business administration along with my accounting clerk certificate.

Without Clark College I have no idea where I would be today. The faculty, staff, and students have given me the confidence to share my story, to represent my peers, and be a contributing member of society.
