Delaware hangs on to beat James Madison 78-74

HARRISONBURG, Va. (AP) — Devon Saddler had 25 points and Davon Usher added 23 on Saturday as Delaware used a late run to pull ahead of James Madison in a 78-74 win.

Delaware (10-7, 2-0 Colonial Athletic Association) took the lead for good during on a 9-0 run that put the Blue Hens up 71-65 with 2:51 to play, and they made 7 of 12 free throws in the final 1:18 to hang on for the win.

Ron Curry brought JMU within 75-74 on a floater which he converted for a three-point play with 10 seconds left.

The Dukes (6-11, 1-2) sent Jarvis Threatt to the free-throw line where he made 1 of 2. On the following play, Curry drove the lane and lost the ball out of bounds with 3 seconds left.

Threatt scored 14 points with six rebounds and four assists.

Andre Nation led five Dukes in double figures with 22 points.
