Boys basketball: King’s Way Christian 56, La Center 50

Kienan Walter scored 18 points and Parker Ickert 16 as the Knights handed the Wildcats their second loss of the season.

King’s Way outscored La Center 9-3 down the stretch to win the game.

Walter and Jay Becker each went 6-for-6 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter to account for 12 of their team’s 17 points in that period.

A 14-6 second quarter put the Knights in front 24-16 at halftime. King’s Way (7-5, 7-3 Trico) led by six entering the fourth quarter but La Center’s press brought the Wildcats into a tie at 47-47.

Matt Braaten scored 16 points and Will Rice 13 for La Center (11-2, 9-2).
