ASHBURN, Va. (AP) — Jim Haslett will remain with the Washington Redskins as defensive coordinator, the latest in a series of expected moves under new coach Jay Gruden.

The Redskins also announced Friday that Chris Foerster will stay on as offensive line coach and that Wes Phillips has been hired as tight ends coach.

Haslett was the defensive coordinator for the last four years under coach Mike Shanahan, who was fired earlier this month. This season the defense ranked 18th in total yards, 27th in yards per play allowed and 30th in points allowed.

But Gruden and Haslett have worked together previously with the Florida Tuskers of the UFL. Gruden also likes the 3-4 scheme that Haslett has installed.

Phillips joins the Redskins from the Dallas Cowboys, where he also coached the tight ends.
