SEATTLE — Seattle police now say five people were shot and wounded when a fight between two men spun out of control early Monday in the Pioneer Square district. Most seriously wounded was a 26-year-old woman who was shot in the face.

Medics took the unidentified woman to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Police Detective Jeff Kappel says at least two people are believed to have fired guns. In addition to the 26-year-old woman, the wounded include a 22-year-old woman and three men, ages 19, 20 and 24. None of the other four suffered serious injuries.

Police have arrested a 21-year-old man for investigation of felony assault and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
