TACOMA — The city of Tacoma is closing a 103-year-old bridge over the Puyallup River at the Port of Tacoma.

Public Work Director Kurtis Kingsolver says it would cost $40 million to repair the East 11th Street Bridge and $10 million for demolition.

The News Tribune report the city is deciding whether to leave the bridge open for pedestrians and bicycles.

The port is giving employees and contractors maps with alternate driving routes.
