WESTPORT — A man wrestled a Taser away from a Westport officer and stunned him with the weapon as part of a spree in which he also threatened his wife with the stun gun and ran through several homes.
KBKW reports the officer responded Sunday evening to an aid call involving the man and his wife who had a no-contact order against him.
The man resisted arrest and was stunned by the officer. But the man took the Taser away and used it on the officer. The officer pulled his gun, but the man’s wife put herself in between the two, begging the officer not to shoot her husband.
Police say the 40-year-old man was finally arrested Sunday night and jailed for investigation of assault and disarming a police officer.
